Excellence 3.0

   As a review before the test tomorrow we went over some of the questions that could be on the test. After so much review and so many blogs I had a good idea on most of the lesson. Through the review I found that I hadn't studied enough on A message to Garcia. to be successful on the test tomorrow I need to remember that it was written in 1899 during the Spanish American war. the book shares a story of an officer who was told to deliver a message to Garcia which was a leader of the Cuban revolution. Rowan excellently delivered the message without asking questions. Elbert Hubbard the author of the story emphasized that all people should look up to how he worked. This book became so popular because people wanted a reminder about how they should give their best on their day to day lives.

 Toady in class instead of reviewing the test we read and took notes on the next three sections. The first section was on the Rise of Christianity and talked about how Jesus' teachings spread. The most important reason they spread was because his teachings brought salvation to all. Christianity was a vision that a Roman emperor had before he went into battle. They won the battle and he made it so Christians would no longer be persecuted.

Test review

  Most of today in class was spent reviewing last weeks test from last week. Class was last mod today so everyone was more lethargic than usual. Since I was the only person to get a 100% on the test I really didn't need the review. The only plus side of reviewing was I had time to write the answers on the test so I could use it without my scan tron sheet. The rest of class time was spent taking notes on the population power point. We discussed immigration and emigration and why. We used the example of Canada and why people would want to immigrate there because their rate is so high. We came to the conclusion that the healthcare paid for by the government was a pull factor in people's decisions to move to Canada.

Greek Mytholgy

     Today class was supposed to mainly be on taking notes on Greek mythology,  but we got pretty off topic. We got off topic and spent most of class on questioning the credibility of sources. This started when students questioned if the Greek god's really weren't real and it was concluded there was no real way to prove there existence or disprove it. Then we started to broaden that to all religions. There is no real proof that God existed or didn't exist that is why people must have faith. Then we moved o to history where you said that history is written by the victors which means the civilizations who survived and passed on their history wrote about their history from their point of view. One example is if Germany won world war two, Hitler would be known as a great leader who defeated the allies and killed off the "evil" Jews. We concluded with that all these factors should be considered before coming to a conclusion on how history could have played out.
